Policies

The Development Office (DO) of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Community serving the University of Nevada, Las Vegas follows both the Association of Fundraising Professional’s Donor Bill of Rights and the Code of Ethics.

The DO operates on the July 1st-June 30th Fiscal Year.  This Office is also responsible for creating an End of the Year Financial Report and an End of the Year Programming and Services Report.  Both of these reports will be available after the annual Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary the first Sunday in October every year.

The DO will send quarterly donation reports to current donors.  In addition, the DO will also send end of the year donation statements to donors who have made at least one single donation of at least $250 as required by the IRS starting December 15th every year.  If you have not met this criteria but would still like to receive this statement or if you would like to receive this statement earlier, please contact the Development Director using the information below.

The Newman Center has recently changed some of its Fundraising Policies to help ensure the success of the Annual Appeal:

●The donations generated from the Feast of St. Thomas Aquinas will be placed in the Annual Appeal.

●Donations received by the Newman Center that are not designated for a specific purpose (i.e. Capital Campaign, Sunday Offering, Annual Appeal, Special Event, etc.) will be placed in the Annual Appeal until that fund meets its goal.  Once that goal is met, the undesignated funds will be placed in the Building Fund.

●In the event that Special Events (Masquerade Ball & Golf Outing) are not subsidized through the Appeal, the donations generated by the event will go to cover costs of the event first, then the profit will be deposited in the Building Fund.

Thank you so much for your continued dedication to the Newman Center and its mission to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the university community.
