Welcome Focus Missionaries!
Each of us is called to share Jesus Christ no matter where we are and FOCUS missionaries answer that call by going to college and university campuses across the country, giving freely and joyfully of themselves to invite students onto the journey to Christ’s Kingdom. The mission of FOCUS is “to know Christ Jesus and fulfill his Great Commission.” FOCUS does this by inviting college students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and his Church, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of Christ-centered evangelization, discipleship, and friendship in which they lead others to do the same. A heart that has encountered Jesus is a heart changed forever. We are excited to be serving at UNLV and we can’t wait to meet you all!
Meet the Team
Angeles Rosales
Hey, my name is Angeles Rosales! I am a fifth year missionary with FOCUS and serve as the FOCUS Team Director! I am originally from Orange County, CA, where my heart was transformed by Jesus during my time as a college student at the University of California, Irvine. Through the power of the Sacraments and fellowship, I was able to grow in my relationship with Jesus and recognize the need to share the Gospel. The treasure I have found in God’s love and mercy has given me this zeal to share it with others and to live out of my true identity of being a beloved daughter of God. I am excited to be back on mission here at UNLV to encounter and love my fellow sisters and brothers in the faith and lead them to Christ. I became a missionary because I realized that I had been given the greatest gift I could ever receive, a chance at life in Him. My life has been transformed by Jesus, and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. Jesus continues to transform my life and I would love to share my story with you and hear yours!

Hey, I’m Ryan Pittner and I’m from Tucson, Arizona. This is my third year as a missionary with FOCUS and second year serving here at UNLV. During college at the University of Arizona (Bear down!) Jesus began to transform my life through authentic friendships and divine intimacy in prayer. As I wrapped up my senior year of college, I felt the Lord tugging at my heart to be a missionary. I am so excited to share the joy I’ve found in Christ with the students on this campus! When I’m not at Newman, you can find me designing graphics, hammocking, playing piano, or watching the sunset.

Hi! My name is Angela Denvir, and I am originally from Bakersfield, California. I am so excited to be returning to serve for a second year as a FOCUS missionary at UNLV! Although I grew up attending Catholic schools through high school, I had never understood who I was, and was very lost. I was placing my worth in what others thought of me, and therefore, obviously was living an extremely lonely, anxious, and unfulfilled life. In a bible study my first year at UCLA (Fours Up!), I was finally told the truth of my identity as a beloved daughter, and of the intimate and infinite love that the Father has for me. This truth has utterly transformed my heart and every moment of my life. I am so excited to share the joy, confidence, and love that Christ has granted me as I have fallen deeply in love with Him! My hope for this year is to facilitate students' encounter with Jesus so that they may fall in love with Him who loved us first! Come find me at Newman, and let's grab a coffee!!

Hi, I’m Xander Manzanares and I am from Littleton, Colorado! I’m a third year missionary, having served in Kansas for the past two years. I grew up with my parents putting me in all sorts of faith formation, but even with all of that knowledge I still had no relationship with the Lord. It was through the community and faithful people I encountered throughout my time at the University of Colorado at Boulder that helped to show me who I am and who I was made to be. It was after my own deeper conversion that I felt this call to be a missionary and encounter students who are in a similar situation.
